The Con-Space Victim Locator Kit 1 is an intrinsically safe communication link to victims of structural collapses.
Designed as a stand-alone portable system, the Con-Space Victim Locator Kit 1 gives a single rescuer the ability to listen deep within a collapsed structure.
The kit utilises a stainless steel probe that can be hammered through rubble, dropped down shafts, or pushed into cracks or crevices to listen for signs of life or to communicate with trapped victims.
The probe fits in 5 cm bore holes or vertical reaches and can be lowered into a void or shaft using couplers and rope. The Probe can remain with a trapped victim(s) during long operations.
This kit should be on the equipment list for responders to earthquakes, avalanches, hurricanes, or bombings.
The Rescue Probe is 16.5 cm in length, 4 cm diameter and 0.6 kg in weight.
