New Break Away Tool Lanyard

Ferno Australia’s Height Safety Division has recently released a unique new safety device for those working with tools at height.

Tool lanyards are typically used to tether a hand tool to the user’s wrist when working at height to prevent the tool from falling to the ground and potentially injuring someone. Ferno’s Break Away Tool Lanyard is unique in that it has been engineered to not only prevent the tool from falling if dropped, but also to detach the attached tool from the user’s wrist should the tool be accidentally caught against a stationery object or in machinery.

Manufactured at Ferno’s Perth plant, the Break Away Tool Lanyard has been designed and tested to separate at a specific point and at pre-determined forces depending on the lanyard model.

Two models of the Break Away Tool Lanyard are available to suit hand tools up to 1kg and 2kg. The lanyard will be introduced to the market over the ensuing weeks and will be available through safety specialist stores.
